Welcome to Julia B. Maitland Elementary School. On behalf of the J. B. Maitland staff, we are looking forward to a great year. As the expectations of teaching children continually increase, it becomes more evident that we all need to work together as a team to ensure that all children reach their potential.  In response to new protocols in education and in society, we believe that all of us – the school and the community – must work together in an extended family environment to ensure success for all our students.  We invite you to be an active participant at Maitland through PTO, fundraisers, parent/family nights, and/or as a parent volunteer. 

As our top priority is to educate each and every child to his/her potential, keeping you informed of what is happening at school is important. Up-to-date and additional information on academics and safety will be sent to you through weekly test papers, monthly newsletters/calendars, notes home, and electronic messages. If you have questions, concerns, special interests throughout the year regarding curriculum, activities, or any other school related functions, I encourage you to contact your child's teacher.  All my decisions will be with each student’s best interest and safety in mind. I am excited to build our relationship as we embark on a new year. By working together in a spirit of cooperation, we will achieve our school mission to set high expectations where students learn, lead, and grow academically and socially.
