Due to the incoming weather, all summer activities, programs, and events have been canceled for Tuesday evening, June 16, 2026, through Thursday, June 18, 2026. 

Individual schools will communicate the re-scheduling of school-specific events. 

District offices will remain open. 

All schools and offices will be closed on June 19, 2026.

St. Mary Parish Public Schools is proud to announce the appointment of Mrs. Rebecca Pye as the new principal of Bayou Vista Elementary, Mrs. Laquanda Gray as the new principal of Franklin Junior High School, and Mr. Lane Larive as the new principal of Patterson High School. 

St. Mary Parish Public Schools is proud to announce the appointment of Ms. Kristina Estay as the new Assistant Superintendent of Operations. This vacancy was created by the appointment of the outgoing assistant superintendent, Dr. Rachael Sanders, who was recently named Superintendent.

Ms. Estay currently holds the position of Director of Human Resources where she served for four years.

St. Mary Parish Public Schools is proud to announce the appointment of Mr. J Ina as the new Supervisor of Child Welfare & Attendance. This vacancy was created by the upcoming retirement of the current supervisor, Mr. Kenneth Holmes.

Mr. Ina currently holds the position of Principal of Franklin Junior High School where he has served for eleven years.

St. Mary Parish Public Schools is proud to announce the appointment of Mrs. Kiante Gunner as the new Director of Human Resources. This vacancy was created by the appointment of the outgoing director, Ms. Kristina Estay, who was recently appointed as assistant superintendent.

Mrs. Gunner currently holds the position of Principal of Bayou Vista Elementary where she served for seven years.

Ivy Taylor, 8th grader at Berwick Jr. High School is the Artist of the Month for June.
